To Anyone Doubting Their Brilliance: This Is Your Unapologetic Invitation
There was once a girl raised by a single dad whose only mission in life was to make him proud. She was not perfect, far from it. She stumbled, she doubted, she carried burdens heavier than most could see. But through it all, she learned one unshakable truth: her brilliance was never about perfection. It was about courage, standards, and the fierce refusal to settle for anything less than spectacular.
If you are reading this and doubting your own brilliance, I want you to know something important: You are not alone. And you are not less because the world has not yet seen your full light.
For years, I walked away from jobs that diminished my soul. I refused to return to law unless it was on my terms, creative freedom, the ability to be an all-rounder who writes, and a role with gravitas and income that matched my worth. I set standards that many said were “too powerful” for someone like me, a petite female without back-up or family to lean on. But I proved the doubters wrong.
My columns never left my desk until I was proud, they were of substance. I was not the perfect daughter, but I helped my dad get his wish to die at home, with dignity and love. I live with no back-up now, just my dog Oscar and my own fierce heart.
It takes enormous guts to be me. And it takes enormous guts to be you.
So here is my invitation: Do not just be unapologetically fierce. Be unapologetically YOU, with all your scars, your standards, your dreams, and your power.
Your story matters. Your brilliance matters. And the world needs exactly what only you can give.
If you are ready to step into that power, I am here with you.
Peace be with you.
